Core Dump #3 – 2020.01.06

Gereshes is now 2(ish) years old, so I figured it’s time for a quick Core Dump!

Numbers

  • In 2019 there were 54000 visitors to Gereshes that viewed 83000 pages. Not bad for such a math-heavy site!
  • Last year only had 35 posts, with an average of 700 words per post. This ends up being about 25000 words, which is half the length of an average aerospace PhD thesis.
  • Spacebot’s content has been viewed over 25000 times, despite only being 3 months old. Note: Spacebot is a twitter bot dedicated to space content, you should check it out!
  • The top posts from this year were:
    1. Ultima Thule Is Weirder Than We Thought
    2. An Introduction To Cubesats
    3. Lyapunov Orbits

Death of the Weekly Post

This year I stopped posting new articles every week. One reason for this was that I’m now halfway through my second year of grad school and was writing more outside of gereshes

Unfortunately, my workload is likely to increase this semester, so the erratic posting schedule is likely to continue.

Off of Gereshes.com

If you want you want more Gereshes content, we have a

  1. Subreddit
  2. Twitter

I don’t know why, but I have a strange love for email newsletters. It’s why I send one out with every Gereshes post as well as some interesting links. You can sign up for it here.

2019 has been an interesting year, here’s to 2020 being even better!

Have a good New Year’s, and stay safe!
